Trey Keys has spent his lifetime with horses. He began competing in the 4-H
and AQHYA showing and as a member of competitive horse judging teams and even
served as President of the Wyoming QHYA. He can't remember a day of his life
without a horse in it.
He started training a few horses for the public at his family's facility while
in high school and, aside from a short break to pursue other interests, has
been doing it ever since. Trey went into training horses full-time in 2000,
specializing in halter horses. Since then, he has owned, trained, or shown
1 World Champion, 5 Reserve World Champions, and several World Show Top-Ten
and Finalist finishers in AQHA and PHBA Open, Amateur, and Youth competition.
He has met many good people showing horses and is very grateful to the veterans
of the industry who have helped him along the way, so he is never too busy to
help someone when they have a problem or question. He believes strongly in
giving back to the industry and helps out local 4-H judging teams, gives clinics,
and judges several open horse shows for riding clubs throughout southern California.
Trey operates Trey Keys Show Horses with his wife Jamie, who trains performance
horses, in Palmdale, California. They keep a busy schedule raising a few babies
and showing year-round.
