Terry Sartain was raised on a dairy farm in Nacogdoches, Texas and grew up
through 4-H showing cattle and pigs. When Terry was sent to Vietnam his
father jumped into Quarter horses to take his mind off the war. Returning
from combat in 1972, Terry decided to give horses a whirl and purchased an
ApHC weanling colt named Bando Sans. That colt won the overall high point
halter horse award for 1972 and Terry has been fitting and showing horses
ever since.
Terry won his first (and second) WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP title in 1977. To
present date, Terry has shown close to 100 World and Reserve World Champions
in four different breeds. In 2002, Terry Sartain was named the HIGH POINT
HALTER EXHIBITOR at the APHA WORLD SHOW.
Terry has held judges cards for the APHA and ApHC for more than twenty
years. He has judged the ApHC WORLD SHOW three times including in 2002.
