Everyone in Cody Whitney's family competed in rodeo, so at age eight he followed
in their footsteps and stepped on his first steer. My brother gave me some
pointers, but nobody really taught me how to ride, states Whitney. I still
just watch videos of myself to get better. Growing up, Whitney looked up to big
brother B. Joe who has competed on the PBR circuit. I also always liked to
watch Glen Keeley. I liked the way he rode. He was aggressive and spurred
everything he got on. Whitney says the proudest moment in his career was the
first time he scored 90 points. It was at Oklahoma City in 2001. I rode Herrington
Cattle Company's Moody Blues for 91.5 points. Whitney continues, No, winning the
world. That will be my proudest moment.
