Chris Culbreth is the Managing Horse Trainer for Wolf Springs Ranches, Inc.
of Westcliffe, Colorado and Scottsdale, Arizona. Wolf Springs trains and breeds
Purebred and Half Arabian performance horses. With 160 horses, Wolf Springs
produces approximately 30 foals per year and competes at 14 Class A, Regional
and National Shows throughout the US and Canada annually. The Wolf Springs
staff competes in English, Western, Hunter, Reining, Driving, and Equitation
divisions.
Chris has been a professional trainer for over twenty-four years. In that time,
he has garnered over 40 US and Canadian National Championships and Reserve
Championships. These wins include awards in Park, English, Western, Hunter,
Driving, youth and amateur riders classes.
Personal awards have included twice being named Arabian Horse Hunter Trainer
of the year as well as being a nominee for both the Western Trainer of the
Year and Horseman of the Year awards.
Competing is only part of his involvement in the equestrian community. Culbreth
has been a licensed judge with the Arabian Horse Association since 1982. Currently
he holds Large R status with The United States Equestrian Federation in both the
Arabian and National Show Horse Association. Officiating experience includes
judging in four countries, having judged National Championships in two of those
countries.
Currently, Chris is Chairman of the Arabian Professional Horsemans Committee as
well as Director and Delegate for the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horsemans
Association.
Culbreth holds a degree in Humanities, having graduated with honors and was a member
of the National Deans List.
Numerous periodicals have published articles written by Chris, discussing topics
including training, judging and overall horsemanship. Committed to education, he
has also conducted clinics and seminars throughout the United States and Canada.
